We thought we were quite brave going up in the cable car to Harissa with a baby. This tin bucket looks scarier.
These guys are just fearless.
And here’s what they are working on. The modern church behind the monument-chapel is said to have been designed as a cross between a cedar and a Phoenician ship.
I guess the upside is that they have an even better view than us.
Haha! Funny you mentioned being nervous to ride the Teleferique; when we rode it over the holidays we also noted the complete lack of safety warnings, waivers, and official notices and the casual manner of the operators. That’s interesting about the new church; we were trying to figure out what they are aiming for with that architecture…
You got the same tall guy who spent his day flirting with visitors then? Yes the church is quite some structure. Hope you got the good weather during your stay.
Yes it was beautiful, thanks!! We’re already counting down the days until our summer trip…
Pierre Khoury is the name of the architect of that church…
felt like adding my bit of trivia, but he just happens to be one of my favorite Lebanese architects.
Your trivia is most welcome. The view from above shows the ‘cedar’ form I believe, as you can see in the map top right.
